Found this wedding picture of my grandparents. I wonder if she made her gown, she would make me little dresses when I stayed with her, wonder if my grandfather played his violin, he played at all the weddings. I was told the wedding lasted three days!

Having trouble with ants i go green has this information

Ant FROM I GO GREEN

To keep a pet’s food from attracting ants, set the food dish in a pie pan filled with soapy water.

To destroy invading ant colonies, mix three cups water with one cup sugar and four teaspoons boric acid. Loosely pack several small screwtop jars half full with cotton balls, saturated with the mixture. Pierce jar lids with two to three small holes (large enough to admit ants) and screw back onto jars. Place jars in areas where ants are active but out of the reach of children and pets.

Aphids, mealybugs, mites, scales, and thrips

Make a soap spray. Mix one tablespoon dishwashing soap, such as Ivory Liquid or Shaklee’s Basic H, in one gallon of water. Test spray a few leaves of the affected plant; if no damage results, spray the whole plant.

Make an ammonia spray by mixing one part household ammonia with seven parts water.

Make an oil spray by stirring one tablespoon of liquid dishwashing soap into one cup of vegetable oil (peanut, safflower, corn, soybean, or sunflower). Mix 1 to 2 teaspoons of the soap and oil blend with one cup water, and apply to affected plants.on

Paula Deen's Magical Peanut Butter Cookies (makes 15 to 18 cookies)

1 cup crunchy or creamy peanut butter

1 egg

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 1/3 cups Splenda sugar replacement ( I use 1 Cup of sugar)

Preheat oven to 350. Grease a large baking sheet.

In a mixing bowl, combine the peanut butter, 1 cup sugar replacement, vanilla, and egg and stir well with a spoon. Roll the dough into balls the size of a walnut. Place them on prepared baking sheet. With a fork dipped in the remaining sugar substitute, press a crisscross design on each cookie. Bake for 12 minutes, remove from the oven, and sprinkle with remaining Splenda. Cool slightly before removing from pan.

At last the crop is in. The potatoes, corn and onions did well, now the tomatoes, peppers and eggplant are coming in daily, these were made into a chile sauce, turn out ok. I had to cook it for four hours, never knew it would take that long.

Today, I used the chile sauce on a hamburger, it was good! I quess the cooking time was not that bad after all. Since I am growing jalapenos someone sent me a poem Author Unknown.

Life isnt like a bowl of cherries or peaches, its more like a jar of Jalapenos----what you do today, might burn your butt tomorrow

Easter Sunday, spent time with my mom. She has been feeling a little low her brother
just died, she is the only one left out of nine children. As always, she had a big smile and joke for us when we arrived. Then we went to my sisters for a delicious dinner .

The bluebonnets are blooming, so I now know it is spring. The pepper plants and potatoes are coming up and looking good so far, just need a little more rain.

Old Homefront

The years have gone by so fast that the old farm, which once was full of life is now all grown up with weeds and rust, but full of memories. This old shed was built by Grandpa Cepcar in the early 1900, he cut the trees down for the logs and created the shed that is still solid today. Willie, checking out the shed, was born on this farm.

March 20, was my Dads birthday he would have been 92.
Time has gone by so fast, memories of car races, Sunday Mass, visit from his friends, food and lots of drinks. So Dad tonight heres a cool one for you.
